NIA Files Chargesheet Against Three Accused in the Case of Conspiracy for Extortion and Disruption of Government Works at Tetariyakhad Colliery in Jharkhand

Yesterday (26.02.2022), NIA filed first supplementary charge sheet in NIA Special Court, Ranchi, against 03 accused persons namely 1. Saif [email protected] Saif Ali @ Bablu, aged 24 yrs, S/o Mubarak Ansari,r/o Vill-Bundu,PS-Keredari, District, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand 2. Shahrukh [email protected] Tiwari Khan, Aged 25 yrs, S/o Mubarak Ansari, R/o Vill-Bundu, PS-Keredari, District, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand and 3. Ajay Turi, Aged -21 yrs, S/o Govind Turi ,R/o Vill-Bundu, PS-Keredari, District, Hazaribagh, Jharkhand U/s 120B, 147, 148, 149, 353, 504, 506, 307, 427, 435, 386, 387 of Indian Penal Code, Sections 25(1)(b), 26, 27 & 35 of Arms act, Sections 3 &4 of Explosive Substance Act, Section 17 of CLA Act, 1908 and Sections 16(1)(b), 18,20 & 23 of UA(P) Act, 1967.

The case pertains to commission of terror act of indiscriminate firing and arson resulting in burning of five vehicles and injuries to 4 civilians at Tetariyakhad Colliery in Latehar district of Jharkhand on 18.12.2020. The motive was to terrorise Delivery Order holders, transporters, lifters of coal etc. in order to commit extortion. In this regard, FIR number 234/2020 dated 19.12.2020 was registered at PS Balumath, district Latehar, Jharkhand which was re-registered by NIA on 04.03.2021. Earlier NIA had filed a charge sheet against seventeen accused persons on 05.08.2021 in this case.

During further investigation it was established that the three accused persons chargesheeted yesterday were responsible for procurement of weapons and ammunition and carrying out the terrorist act at Tetariakhand Colliery in collusion with other members of Sujit Sinha and Aman Sahu gang.

Further investigation in the case continues.
